Independent developer Creepy Jar has now bolstered their survival/psychological thriller game “Green Hell” with controller support! After launching the game, any connected controller will trigger a prompt to adjust inputs in the options menu. Players clamored for this feature from the start and Creepy Jar was keen to deliver. Furthermore, while you enjoy the simplicity of a controller interface, Creepy Jar is preparing the next big update.

Creepy Jar promises to update and improve the “Green Hell” experience on a regular basis! Even now, they are building an expansion to bolster in-game shelters and to include a 4-player co-op mode! Stay tuned, as these should arrive within the next few months. Furthermore, we have been promised a console version of this game!

Key Features

  • Realistic Survival Simulator — Green Hell puts great focus on realism in both its world-building and gameplay. Everything that is crafted or built is necessary for survival and was consulted on with experts. The Amazon is not a typical forest; threats are literally crawling under your skin.
  • Psychological Thriller — You awake in the middle of the night, you hear the distant voice of your wife, Mia through the darkness. Through the radio her pleas for help ring in your ears. Will she be ok? Will you succumb to the dangers of this hostile environment before you can rescue her? The hardest battle you’ll face is the fight against yourself, your weaknesses, and your fears in order to find Mia.
  • A Lushly Recreated Amazon Rainforest — Every effort has gone into recreating the lush world of the Amazon. An exotic and dangerous place, this jungle is filled with many hazards beyond predators including toxic plants, illnesses, and infections all waiting to bring the player to their demise.
  • Body Inspection — Dangers lurk around every corner, but they also live under your very skin. Paramount to your survival is checking your body for parasites, infections, and wounds. Take care of your body or you will face the consequences.

Surrounded by a truly hostile environment, you must contend with dangers that lurk in the greenery and ones that wriggle beneath your very flesh. As you contend with thirst, starvation, and predators, you will also suffer an illness, parasites, and festering wounds. Do you think that a big cat is your worst problem? Try surviving when you are afraid to even drink water lest you contract a debilitating disease.

To make this simulator as realistic as possible, Creepy Jar consulted with survival experts. Everything that you craft or build that is necessary to survival in the game is just as necessary in the wild. While this is a far cry from real survival training, the attention to detail lends realism found in few other games of its kind.

Creepy Jar assures us that “every effort has gone into recreating the lush world of the Amazon.” While this, of course, includes hazards such as poisonous snakes and toxic plants, it also showcases a vibrant, lush jungle on the other side of the world. Let’s just hope that the Amazon fires are managed before this modern survival game becomes a piece of historical fiction.
