Slitherine LTD, one of the world’s largest publishers in Digital wargames and Strategy games, have set their sights set on fighting The Bugs as Slitherine and Sony Consumer Products have announced Starship Troopers: Terran Command , a real-time strategy game 9RTS) slated for release on PC next year. Based on the hit sci-fi action movie, Starship Troopers: Terran Command hopes to successfully blend unit management, survival, and captivating story-telling, through classic real-time mechanics, which also include tower defense and tactical deployment of units.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is set within the universe of the original movie. A human colony is overrun by Arachnids, and they determine that in order to survive, they must take the fight right into the heart of bug territory. Players will lead an elite unit of soldiers to defeat The Bugs. Players need to cover vital choke-points, build defense emplacements, and achieve superior firepower through the wise tactical use of elevation levels.
Slitherine LTD has had a long and stellar history in the genre, including the release of Battlestar Galactica: ___, which has been critically and commercially praised among those that played the game. For Starship Troopers, the last game to be released using this IP was Starship Troopers: mobile Infantry, a 2012 mobile game that tied into the CGI film, Starship Troopers: Invasion. Starship Troopers: Mobile Infantry is only one of several games to bear the Starship Trooper name. Seeing the IP return in this genre is not only exciting but also provides a new opportunity.

The game is being developed by the Belgian development studio, The Artistocrats. The studio is behind strategy games, such as the Order of Battle series and Commander: The Great War. The studio owner and lead designer, Lukas Nijksten, has been working on Starship Troopers: Terran Command. The game is on track to be completed and released in 2020.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command will launch in 2020 for the PC platform.
