Renowned designer and streetwear powerhouse Jeff Staple and The Overwatch League™ recently announced their collaboration to create and redesign an authentic player kit for esports. Designed with feedback from Overwatch League players to create a look and feel unique to both traditional sports and esports, the new kit will feature “elevated fabrics, premium graphic application, new side gullets for adjustable comfort, and a fit that is cut and sewn to increase quality and wearability while gaming.”
The Overwatch League made this news with the following statement:
“Jeff Staple is a legendary graphic and fashion designer, curator, branding expert, footwear aficionado who has been in the industry for over two decades. He has partnered with many top brands in the design, lifestyle and entertainment space. Staple engineered the kits for gamers, working with Overwatch League players throughout the design process to ensure the kits are a comfortable, functional uniform for competition, while also maintaining his signature aesthetic.
The goal of this collaboration is to transcend competitive gaming by creating a professional gaming kit from the ground up that players can enjoy competing in with comfort and style, and that fans will love. This collaboration is raising the bar and setting a new standard for professional gaming kits in the industry as a whole.”
When the 2020 Overwatch League season launches on February 8, each of the 20 teams will feature their own unique home and away kits. Fans can order their very own kit, starting with the short-sleeve jerseys, today at https://shop.overwatchleague.com. All orders will be shipped by the end of March.
