Relic Hunters Zero: Remix Coming to Switch

Relic Hunters Zero: Remix Coming to Switch

Developer Rogue Snail has teamed up with Akupara Games to release an upgraded version of “Relic Hunters Zero!” This popular, free-to-play Steam game released back in 2015. After a series of revamps, it will be returning as “Relic Hunters Zero: Remix” to Steam and debuting on the Nintendo Switch!

The Project

This year, Rogue Snail has been developing more additions to the “Relic Hunters” franchise. While working on “Relic Hunters Rebels” and “Relic Hunters Legend,” the have apparently refurbished and ported their original title, “Relic Hunter Zero.” Rather than a vanilla port, though, “Relic Hunters Zero: Remix” will include new features, many of which were suggested or requested by the game’s fans.

“Relic Hunters on the Switch has always been the most frequent request we get.”

This reboot includes new music and skins as well as new weapons created or inspired by the Relic Hunters community. Furthermore, Rogue Snail has optimized the game and included an achievement system.

As ever, their goal to prove that “free” games can also be “good” has guided their decisions and will hopefully continue to inspire and entertain their fans.

At A Glance

At the moment, we have very little other information about this port. From their announcement trailer, though, it looks like Rogue Snail is sticking to their guns. If this trailer is any indication, then their graphics and controls have been given a little facelift. Nothing too extensive seems to have changed and “Relic Hunters Zero: Remix” will keep its older style. However, that may be for the best, as the game’s quirky, simple art style is part of what the community enjoys about the game. Perhaps this remix will be a sterling opportunity for new players to experience the game and support an indie studio!
