When you ask somebody what their favorite Call of Duty is what do they say? Typically, when I ask this question I ofter hear Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, or Black Ops 1. Over the last five months, rumors have circulated regarding a remastering for Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 2. These rumors were further accelerated when data minors discovered code in Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) & Call of Duty Warzone referencing Modern Warfare 2. Yesterday afternoon, a trailer was accidentally launched on the German PlayStation store revealing that a remastering of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 would be releasing sooner than expected.
Today, Activision has formally announced and released Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 remastered on the PlayStation 4. This remastering is strictly the campaign which includes up to 4k resolution and HDR support. According to the press release, Modern Warfare 2 Re will be a timed exclusive on the PS4 with others being able to preorder it for the Xbox One and PC. At the moment, the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign remastering is retailing for $19.99 on PSN.
