Today the folks at Humble Bundle announced the new Humble Brag series – five new publishing partnerships for games launching in 2020, and two upcoming titles: One Step From Eden, and Fae Tactics.
The two upcoming title announcements are One Step From Eden, and Fae Tactics.
One Step From Eden, arriving March 26th for PCs and Nintendo Switch, combines elements of deck-building, real-time action, and roguelikes to challenge players to carve a path of either mercy or destruction through a world. Featuring both solo and co-op options, players can cast spells, battle evolving enemies, and collect game-changing artifacts in this cross-genre hybrid.
Fae Tactics arriving later this Spring for PCs and Nintendo Switch, centers around a young magic user named Peony. Players will navigate Peony through a vibrant world of magic and danger and delve into the growing conflict between humans and fae. Along the way, Peony will meet a motley group of characters, some allies, some not.
The new partnership announcements are for the games Wildfire, Ambition: A Minuet in Power, Prodeus, Ring of Pain, and The Iron Oath.
Ambition: A Minuet in Power should need little introduction to our readers, as we’ve done a very recent hands-on with their PAX East build.
Wildfire is a stealth action game built around the concept of a totally flammable world. Players use their control of the elements to turn environment around them against the army pursuing them.
Prodeus follows the retro shooter trend, with old-school design re-build with modern rendering techniques. The game aims to stay true to the classic AAA FPS games of yesteryear, while incorporating an easy to use level maker and map workshop. The art style is intended to evoke the aesthetic limitations of older hardware.
Ring of Pain is a card game based dungeon crawler. This could be an interesting one which seems to focus on short gameplay sessions and the chaotic randomness of deck based games.
Finally, The Iron Oath is a turn-based tactical RPG set in a dark fantasy world. The game promises the ability to recruit, manage, and run missions with a group of mercenaries. If this turns out to be a fantasy Jagged Alliance, this writer will be very happy with the results.
