Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour Coming To Nintendo Switch

Many have fond memories playing 90s era shooters. Classics like Doom, Wolfenstein, and Duke Nukem have cemented themselves into video game history. Back in October of 2016, Gearbox released Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This anniversary release proved that 2011’s Duke Nukem Forever didn’t kill fans urge to kick ass and chew gun. Today, Gearbox publishing announced that a Switch release is coming later this month!

The Nintendo Switch port of Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour contains:

  • Nintendo Switch Specific Features; optional gyroscopic aiming, HD rumble, motion controls, and local wireless multiplayer.
  • Complete an all-new 5th episode containing eight original levels created by the original designers.
  • New original music composed by Lee Jackson, the original author of the iconic theme “Grabbag” and sound designer for Duke Nukem 3D
  • New one-liners from the voice of Duke himself, Jon St. John.
  • In-Game Developer Commentary from the original development team.
  • Play the game using the Ken Silverman’s original 1996 graphics engine or toggle in real-time to play with the original content remastered using Gearbox’s “True3D” graphics engine.
Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch in the Nintendo eShop on June 23rd for $9.99. Fans who pre-order on the eShop before July 7th can purchase the game at a 50% discount. That brings this release down to $4.99, for a limited time.
