Recently, it was announced that PAX West and PAX Australia 2020 were canceled. This sad news came in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While the physical conferences are no longer happening, PAX has plans for an all-new way to experience the show. Today it was announced that PAX Online would be their solution.
PAX Online is a 9-day online event, that is completely free to the public. Running from September 12th through the 20th, anyone with access to the internet will have open access. Pax Online will consist of 3 consecutive streams, delivering news and content worldwide. Each of the 3 streams, curated by the PAX and EGX Teams, will continuously run throughout the entire 9-day event.
Panel applications for PAX Online are open. PAX is looking for submissions from those specifically in regions that have been unable to attend previous events. Submissions can be filled on their official website. PAX is also taking in applications for its Indie Showcase. Offering up great opportunities to promote upcoming developers and their games. More details can be found on this form. The team has also teamed up with Penny Arcade to bring exclusive PAX merch, available to pre-order now on Penny Arcade’s storepage. Those interested in becoming an exhibitor with collaborative opportunities can fill out this form.
While the COVID-19 outbreak has caused many major events to postpone indefinitely, PAX found an alternative to supplement their shows. While not much else has been revealed, it’s exciting to see how the PAX experience will translate to an all-digital experience. For more information on PAX Online, visit the official PAX website.
