Crash Bandicoot 4 It’s About Time Gets Even More Twisted

Crash Bandicoot 4

2020 has been a wild ride so far and it doesn’t seem like there is an end in sight. With crazy twists and turns, this year’s plotline seems almost out of control. In fact, we’ve been on this story arch so long that some of the beginning plot points have been forgotten. Earlier today, Toys for Bob unveiled new information about Crash Bandicoot 4 It’s About Time during the PlayStation State of Play. To be honest, I had forgotten that Crash Bandicoot 4 It’s About Time had been announced during the Summer Game Fest on June 22. Now let’s dissect what we learned during the State of Play.

During the press conference, Toys for Bob unveiled an all-new game mode for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time called: N. Verted mode. N. Verted mode is an alternate mirror mode that provides new takes on various crash worlds. Remember kids, Bumpa-Berries can cause some neon-colored hallucinations. Travel through old-timey film sets that crank up gameplay speed and other radical variations of Crash’s world.

The games bizarre take on levels takes the concept of mirror mode and phase-shifts it into a berry induced state. This new mode gives players alternate perspectives, different sound effects, music, and in some dimensions, extra additional transformations to the gameplay experience. If the player is able to master every world all over again they will earn Bumpa-berries instead of Wumpa fruit; these berries grant the player the opportunity to unlock even more rewards.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time N Verted Mood

In addition to the all-new N. Verted Mode, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time welcomes back some former Crash characters. In the announcement, Dingodile,  a tail-slapping beast smacks his way through crates; this time Dingodile is now a playable character in the upcoming game. After Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Dingodile has hung up his old flamethrower-rocket launcher combo and retired from a life of villainy. But now he’s back with unfinished business, falling through space and time into another dimension where his adventure to return home begins.

The game will feature new wacky and zany unlockable skins when the game launches; these skins range from pirate garb, to space suits, to unicorn onesies, dinosaur scales, and more. Additionally, PlayStation players will receive several time-shattering skins upon reaching the Dimensional Map. The game allows players to unlock a variety of new skins. These skins, dubbed “Marsupus Erectus” and “Serious Upgrade,” will be available on other platforms no earlier than December 31, 2021.

Verted mode, and they brought all of the same passion and expertise that went into the amazing Crash™ Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.”

“Toys for Bob has pulled out all the stops modernizing this classic franchise, from bringing to life visually stunning worlds, to creating a wide breadth of content and new ways to play, like N. Verted mode and additional playable characters,” said Michelle Bresaw, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Activision. “We’re confident this is a sequel fans have been waiting for, staying true to the franchise, while also bringing a fresh, new experience.”
