Coming Soon to the Nintendo eShop – NBA 2K21, AVICII Invector, Spinch

Hot on the heels of their big Super Mario 35 announcement, Nintendo has also released their weekly Nintendo Download, detailing the new games coming to the Nintendo eShop on the Switch in the next seven days. Headlining the thirty new titles are the latest iteration of 2K’s venerable basketball series, and rhythm-action game AVICCI Invector.

Heading up the list is NBA2K21. It’s been a weird year for actual sports this year, and the NBA has been hemorrhaging viewers for their live playoff games, despite large parts of the United States still being stuck in lockdown. Will any of that matter for sales of NBA2K21, or will fans of the game and the sport see this as a respite from the on- and off-court drama going on in the actual NBA? NBA 2K21 will be available on Friday, September 4th.

AVICII Invector, the game created in collaboration with the late superstar DJ AVICII, looks like a combination of Beat Saber and Audiosurf. The game features twenty-five of AVICII’s biggest hits, including “Without You”, “Wake Me Up”, and “Lay Me Down.” AVICII Invector will be available on Tuesday, September 8th.

Spellbreak is a multiplayer spell-slinging battle royale. The game is available now. Additional game modes are planned for future updates.

Finally, there’s Spinch. Despite the similarity of the name to the Potterverse act of splinching, this isn’t a game about leaving random parts of oneself around the map when teleporting. Instead, Spinchis a side-scrolling, psychedelic platformer which challenges players to become a Spinch, a hyper-agile organism trying to rescue its litter of missing offspring from an invasion. Spinch is available now.

Aaron is proof that while you can take a developer out of the game industry, it's much harder to take the game industry out of a developer. When not at his day job, Aaron enjoys teaching Axis & Allies to his kids, writing sci-fi stories, playing classic space sims on Twitch, and riding around the American Midwest on his Harley.
