Hawkman Played By Aldis Hodge In Black Adam

Aldis Hodge Black Adam DC Films Hawkman

Deadline Magazine reports that Aldis Hodge is negotiating to star as Hawkman in the highly anticipated Black Adam film. Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson as the title character alongside Noah Centineo, playing Atom Smasher. The news came on the heels of significant rumors about Alexander Skarsgard playing the Thanagarian a few weeks ago.

If you have yet to see it, here is the animated teaser trailer for Black Adam. Enjoy Dwayne Johnson’s sonorous and ominous voice.

Aldis Hodge is perhaps best known for his work in the TV shows City on a Hill and Leverage. His more critically claimed performances in The Invisible Man and One Night In Miami could have likewise contributed to his casting as Hawkman.

As for Hawkman himself, the Gardner Fox and Dennis Neville-created character has a storied history. His tale largely focuses on his past lives, beginning in Ancient Egypt and centering on the love of his life, Shayera. To say any more, though, would risk spoiling the film. As for his media history, after first appearing in 1940, Hawkman has been a recurring character in the DC universe. A member of the Justice League and a mentor in the Justice Society, Hawkman has frequently featured in the comics and animated TV series. Black Adam, however, will be the first time that the avian hero has appeared in a live action role.

Let us hope that the film lives up to the hype!
