2020 has seen its fair share of gaming leaks. In fact, with all the leaks that have occurred, we could put out a small fire. Since June, Xbox and PlayStation gamers have speculated what the prices are for the next-gen consoles. Prior to last week’s leak, many expected the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X to cost over 500 dollars. Last week, images emerged confirming the existence of the Xbox Series S. These pictures also revealed the Xbox Series X and Series S’s release prices. This leak was then confirmed by Microsoft. Today, the PlayStation 5 price has potentially leaked due to a Spanish retailer.
Later this week on September 16th, Sony is holding a press conference for the PlayStation 5. During the event, Sony is expected to reveal the price of the PlayStation 5 and the PS5 Digital; in addition to the price reveal, many expect the PS5 release date to be announced. We expect the PlayStation 5 to be released on November 10th or a week prior to get an advantage. At the moment both consoles have more to prove before their upcoming release.
The Leak
Today, an image emerged on twitter showing the supposed retail price of the PS5 & PS5 Digital. In this image, the Spanish retailer El Corte Ingles, the number one retailer in Spain has the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital listed at $499.90 and $399.90. In the image, the Xbox Series X and S can also be seen list as $499.90 and $299.90; it is possible that these prices are place holder prices based on speculation. Based on everything revealed about the PS5, the $499 seems like a reasonable price.

At the current moment, all we can do is wait until this Wednesday. Since the Xbox Series X & S reveal occurred last week, we expect Sony to reveal their price. If the PS5 is in fact $499.99 will you pick it up or the Xbox Series X?
