ROCKFISH Games Reveals EVERSPACE 2 Gameplay Trailer and Commentary at gamescom 2020

A lot of news came out of gamescom 2020’s fully digital event last week. For space sim fans, some of the biggest news might have gotten overshadowed as ROCKFISH Games released some tasty new EVERSPACE 2 details, including a fully functional cockpit view, and more details about the game’s upcoming Steam Early Access release.

When EVERSPACE 2 hits Steam Early Access later this year, players will have access to the new star system called Union, a bustling trading hub that opens up the interstellar game world. This new game section features an entirely new look and feel than the existing worlds that have been the staple of EVERSPACE 2′s PR thus far. In addition, the Early Access launch will reintroduce the Okkar, EVERSPACE‘s original primary alien race. Players will find two new ship classes to use, plus those gorgeous functional displays in cockpit view.

“Fueled by glowing feedback on the EVERSPACE 2 Prototype and Closed Alpha, our team was even more motivated to continue pushing the technical and artistic envelope,” says Michael Schade, CEO and Co-Founder of ROCKFISH Games. “The introduction of the new star system Union demonstrates what an exceptional visual and gameplay experience a next-gen space shooter like EVERSPACE 2 can offer to hardcore fans of space action games. We cannot wait for avid space pilots to delve into the first two of eight star systems in EVERSPACE 2 later this year. We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely with the community to deliver on our ambitious vision.”

Alongside the new trailer, ROCKFISH Games also released an eight minute combat video featuring developer commentary.

EVERSPACE 2‘s Closed Beta is scheduled to drop in September for eligible Kickstarter backers. The Steam Early Access launch is planned for December 2020. In the meantime, the game can be wishlisted on Steam, and has a free demo (basically the Alpha demo which we reported on last year) accessible for download.
