Ladies and gentlemen, Rockers and skateboarders of all ages, the wait is finally over. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is available. After months of anticipation, gamers and skaters all over the world can finally get their hands on the remastering of the games that started the skateboarding genre. Last month, Frank Ventimiglia previewed the remastered Warehouse level, in anticipation of the game’s September 4th, 2020, release. In his preview, he stated that the controls felt smoother and any crash or combo break was user error and not because of the controls. We do agree that the Warehouse demo should be available to the public, at least now that the game has released.
In celebration of the game’s upcoming release, Activision has recreated the game’s iconic Warehouse level for Tony to skate in real life. Fans will have the opportunity to see Tony skate the park for the first time tomorrow. The special behind-the-scenes look was captured by Vans at the real-life recreation of the Warehouse; video of Hawk’s Warehouse shredding will be available at 9 a.m. PST.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 combines all the original levels, while including OG pro-skaters and tricks. Tricks have been revamped to include revert, lip tricks, and wall plants. The game also includes new pro-skaters, new music, and 4K Support. Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater modes are back; Create-A-Park welcomes a new robust editor enabling easier customization. Created parks can be shared online with friends.
Hawk’s Quote
“I’m thankful for the quality and care that Activision and Vicarious Visions have put into the remaster to revive the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series in the best way possible,” said Tony Hawk. “For years, fans have asked me about bringing these games back, and I’m proud to say that we finally have a game that delivers on the expectations that nostalgic fans want, while inspiring a new generation to pick up a controller, and perhaps even a real skateboard.”
Vicarious Visions Quote
“Our number one priority with the remaster was to honor the legacy, handling and quality of the original games,” said Jen Oneal, Studio Head at Vicarious Visions. “Seeing and hearing fans around the world share their excitement and love for the Warehouse demo only confirms that we accomplished what we set out to do. At Vicarious Visions, we’re huge fans of the franchise and we can’t wait to play with fans. We hope they have as much fun playing the remaster as we did making it.”
