Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Again. Why Now?

PlayStation Cyberpunk 2077

The game that many consider a game of the year candidate has been delayed once again. Yesterday, developer CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed once again. This is the fourth Cyberpunk 2077 delay in 2020 alone. After the announcement, the only gaming community seems to be divided. On one hand, many feel that CD Projekt Red can not live up to the commitments that they have made their community; on the other hand, many are commending CD Projekt Red for taking the hit in order to release the best game possible. Where do you stand on this recent delay?

So why is the community angry and why has CD Projekt Red delayed Cyberpunk 2077 yet again? Earlier this year, Cyberpunk 2077 was scheduled to be released on April 16th, 2020. The developers stated that the game was not yet ready and delayed the game to September 17th. Now game delays are pretty common in the industry and typically once a developer pushes the release date six months later, the game typically releases on time. With Covid-19 still impacting a majority of the world, many studios have had to resort to work from home arrangements.

As September 17th drew near many grew concerned that Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed once again. This concern was confirmed, when CD Projekt Red delayed Cyberpunk 2077 once again. In their last delay, the studio promised that this would be the last delay and that the game would release on November 19th. Today, once again, CD Projekt Red has announced that they are once again delaying the game due to technical issues. In their announcement on Twitter, they apologized to the community for delaying the game once again and promised that it will be an amazing game.

New Date

In their announcement, CD Projekt Red has stated that Cyberpunk 2077′s new release date will be December 10th, 2020. What do you think of the game being delayed an additional 21 days? Is CD Projekt Red avoiding competing Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Let us know what you think of the latest delay.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia on December 10th; the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game will come at a later date.
