Doom Eternal first released on March 20th, 2020 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Since then the game has become a critically acclaimed success. In fact, the award-winning shooter from id Software has been nominated in four different categories for the 2020 Game Awards; two of the nominations are for Game of the Year and Action Game of the Year. Although the game released earlier this year, it feels like it has been a lot longer. Luckily, Nintendo Switch owners have not had to wait long for a port of the latest Demon Slayer goodness.
The Nintendo Switch port of Bethesda’s Doom Eternal was developed in partnership with Panic Button. For those who are unaware, Panic Button is the studio behind the Nintendo Switch ports of DOOM (2016), Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
Utilizing idTech 7, players will be able to experience the epic single-player campaign of Doom Eternal at home or on the go. Motion Aiming will allow Nintendo Switch players to experience DOOM Eternal in a whole new way. The motion aiming control option utilizes the built-in gyroscope of the Joy-Con; this option can be used in conjunction with the traditional style of aiming using the controller’s analog stick. This creates a perfect blend of immersion and accuracy.
These changes will allow you to experience DOOM Eternal in a whole new way. Leap into combat and slay demons either with a shoulder-mounted flamethrower, wrist-mounted blade, upgraded guns, and other new abilities. Soon you will be the greatest
