2020 has been a rough time for many around the world. During these trying times, people have looked for new and exciting ways to stay connected. Zoom, Netflix Share, and TikTok are just a few of the ways people are staying connected. During The Game Awards, Innersloth, developers of Among Us, revealed the Airship map. In addition to the new Gunship map, it was announced that Among Us would be joining Xbox Game Pass for PC. Earlier this week, it was announced that Among Us was now available on the Nintendo Switch. Yesterday afternoon, when Among Us launched on Xbox Game Pass, a gif showcased a new announcement.

After its announcement for Nintendo Switch, it was only a matter of time before Among Us would launch on the Xbox One, Series X & S, and PlayStation 4 & 5. On December 17th, Xbox revealed that Among Us would be coming to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X & S in 2021. At the moment, there is no word on whether or not the beloved indie game will launch on the PlayStation. This lack of an announcement is most likely due to Sony’s past unwillingness, regarding cross-platform play.
At this time, it is expected that the Xbox version of Among Us will allow crossplay between PC, Switch, and mobile phones. If the game is not released on PlayStation devices, could we see some type of Xbox exclusive content? A lack of a Playstation launch, would not hurt the game. Just in 2020 alone, another top-rated indie game chose to launch exclusively on one console for the year. Is Innersloth planning to do what Mediatonic did with Fall Guys? Over the next few weeks, we will just have to wait and see.
