Sense: A Cyerpunk Ghost Story makes its console debut on Nintendo Switch January 7th

2021 is set to start with spine-chilling fear! Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is now set to make its console debut on Nintendo Switch. On January 7th, Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story launches on the Nintendo Switch eShop, bringing its highly anticipated vision of the future, along with its older-fashioned take on survival horror.

The news comes from the Eastasiasoft Winter Showcase, which announced several different games arriving to modern systems, for the 2020/2021 season. A posting on its Kickstarter page revealed more details for the debut of Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story on consoles. The release of Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is locked and ready for Sony PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch. After a long and arduous process of certification, the game was approved. The Nintendo Switch version will launch first, followed by a release on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. Physical items, which include a physical copy of the game for PlayStation Vita, are looking to ship out during Spring of 2021.

While the genre of cyberpunk and futurism is currently the big trend in gaming, Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is a very different kind of experience. One that trades non-stop action for a slower, but more immersive experience. Players step into the cybernetic eyes of Mei-Lin Mak, a sex worker on the streets of Neo Hong Kong. In 2083, in the sea of neon-lights, humans enhance themselves with advanced technologies, augmenting their physical selves to greater heights and abilities. Having suffered grave injury years early, Mei’s face is cybernetically enhanced, giving her enhanced visual senses. Deep within the city, a grave, dark secret emerges, threatening her life. Fourteen souls now come to spread evil. As Mei has unnatural eyes, the perception of reality is questioned as she encounters these souls. Mei must use her wits to solve the mystery of the souls and end the curse. Inspired by classic horror games from the 1990s, such as Clock Tower, Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story presents itself as an extraordinarily original and refreshing take on the Cyberpunk genre; With multiple endings and numerous interactions that will affect Mei’s ultimate fate.

It has been a roller-coaster of emotions for the team behind Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story. Following a fantastic Kickstarter campaign that saw the game smashing goals, complications from Sony, the COVID-19 pandemic, and even Twitter, sought to impede progress. Sony’s unexpected push for censorship placed a potential barrier to Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story, a game that leans heavily on Eastern eroticism, sexual themes, and Chinese lore. Sony’s censorship policy was paired with Sony’s disappointing neglect of the PlayStation Vita handheld and the state of the PlayStation Store on the system, which has undergone significant troubles in recent months. Twitter unexpectedly shut down the page for the game and the COVID-19 pandemic has made development, as well as the creation of physical copies, more difficult. Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story finally launched on Steam back on August 25th, and despite launch-day complications, the game made it to the top of the charts, receiving “Mostly Positive” review reception out of 91 reviews. With the release of Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story, the team at Suzaku Games and Top Hot Games are excited to bring this fresh new take on cyberpunk and horror storytelling to the gaming masses.

Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story launches next Thursday, January 7th 2021, on the Nintendo Switch eShop with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions to follow shortly.
