In September of 2018, Telltale Games announced a sudden mass closure of its studios. This left hundreds of employees unemployed without time to search for new work. According to former Telltale employees, some staff knew the company was in financial peril. In 2019, LCG Entertainment announced the acquisition of several key Telltale assets; LCG Entertainment would still publish and re-release games under the Telltale name. Despite being a different company, many former Telltale employees still have gripes with LCG Entertainment re-releasing former Telltale works. Last year, the company re-released Batman: The Telltale Series and announced The Wolf Among Us 2.
