EVERSPACE 2 Early Access Launches Today on Steam and GOG Games

The waiting is finally over! After a Corona-virus related deadline slips, EVERSPACE 2 has officially hit its Early Access launch on Steam and GOG.com today. In conjunction with that launch, developer ROCKFISH Games has released a tasty batch of new screenshots and a new trailer video.

Set a few years after the events of EVERSPACEEVERSPACE 2 puts players back into the story of Adam Roslin, a cloned military space pilot. However, Adam is no longer just a clone with unlimited lives and persistent memories, but is now his own unique individual. Death has real consequences. In gameplay terms, what this means is that most of the rogue-like elements from the first game have been cut, and EVERSPACE 2 will feature a more focused and lengthy campaign.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the glowing support from our community. We’ve seen a lot of enthusiasm right from when we pitched the first EVERSPACE installment as a new breed of space combat and exploration for PC and consoles during our first Kickstarter campaign in 2015,” says Michael Schade, CEO & co-founder of ROCKFISH Games. “Thanks to EVERSPACE’s commercial success as a surprise hit with over two million copies sold, we were able to take a big leap forward and reach out again to our most loyal fans through Kickstarter to pitch EVERSPACE 2 as a full-blown open-world space looter shooter. With today’s Early Access release, we’re delivering on that promise as a first taste of what we envision to create together with our fans over the next 12 to 18 months. Hands down, we couldn’t be more excited about getting feedback from avid space pilots all around the globe.”

As the game passes through the Early Access process, the ROCKFISH Games team has a significant list of planned improvements that players can expect over the next year. Among the highlights are an expansion of the available star systems to eight, nine player ship subclasses featuring four tiers each, and a player level cap of thirty. These and other updates will be rolled out as a series of quarterly updates.

We’ll have a more indepth preview of EVERSPACE 2 in the next couple of weeks as one of our writers dives into the Steam Early Access version. Who will be joining him in that universe?
