Aksys Games to Announce New Titles at New Games Plus Expo

Aksys Games New Games Plus Expo

The show must go on. Akysys Games, the publisher of niche eastern indie titles, will be announcing new titles at the online event, New Game Plus Expo. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to render traditional conventions shut, New Game Plus Expo will show new titles on the way and Aksys Games will be part of the excitement. New Game Plus Expo, NGPX, will be an online event for 2021, showcasing a bevy of new game announcements from a variety of eastern-based game developers. Koei Tecmo, Arc System Works, and NIS America are just some of the companies joining Aksys Games. Aksys Games did not say what exactly will be shown, or what would be teased, but did confirm new announcements to be made at this year’s show.

New Games PlusExpo was founded in 2020 to be a replacement for events such as E3. In the wake of the public health crisis caused by COVID-19, many conventions were canceled indefinitely. New Games Plus Expo was forged as an online event to showcase new and exciting titles from Eastern-based publishers and to gain one-on-one access with some of the biggest names in Japanese and Eastern games. For 2021, SungWon Cho (ProZD) will be the voice of NGPX 2021. Interviews with Suda 51, Akira Katano, and Sohei Niikawa are planned as well.

Aksys Background

Aksys Games has been a small but mobile force in the video game market, establishing the releases of a variety of games in the past few years both physically and digitally. PlayStation Vita owners will recognize Aksys Games for releasing a solid portfolio of games for the system, which include the Falcom action RPG, Tokyo Xanadu, as well as the first-person horror mystery, Death Mark. On the Nintendo Switch, Aksys Games released a large selection of physical and digital titles, including Deadly Premonition Origins. The team also helped publish the mecha spaceship shooter, Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax for the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Aksys Games’ most recent releases include a small armada of visual novels, but the last update on their news blog is for a royal lifestyle simulator, Pretty Princes Party. NGPX will be hosted much earlier this year, on March 4th, compared to last year’s show occurring during the Summer. This does set the stage for a longer show, as well as more announcements to be made for the rest of 2021, and beyond.

NGPX begins on March 4th, 2021, at 8:00 am PST, 11:00 am EST on Twitch.
