Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone are still going strong; however, a rumor has emerged regarding the upcoming Call of Duty 2021. Now it is important to take any rumor with a grain of salt, but the rumor comes from prominent Call of Duty leaker, Tom Henderson. For those who are unaware, Henderson has become renowned for his accuracy with Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Black Ops Cold War leaks. Because of this, he has become known as one of the top Call of Duty Sources. Henderson has taken to Twitter to discuss the upcoming Call of Duty 2021.
According to the latest Call of Duty leak, Call of Duty 2021 will return to World War 2 and continue with the boots ground gameplay. At the moment, Activision has yet to announce the next Call of Duty; however, according to the rumor, Call of Duty 2021 will be on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
In a tweet, Henderson stated,
“According to Henderson, Call of Duty 2021 is in development at Sledgehammer Games, the team behind Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: WWII. Adding to this, Henderson claims the game will be gritty and controversial just like Modern Warfare was, which is why MW fans are starting to board the Call of Duty 2021 hype train. Henderson also describes the game as “boots on the ground,” which is always an easy way to get hardcore and classic COD fans thrilled. To this end, the game is apparently putting an emphasis on guerrilla-like warfare.”
Like Black Ops Cold War, the new game’s weapons will be integrated into Warzone. In addition to weapons, Warzone will most likely receive a visual update.
Next Developer
Prior to the release of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, Sledgehammer Games was developing the 2020 Call of Duty. Due to unannounced circumstances, Treyarch took over the development of 2020’s Call of Duty. Because of this, many speculated Cold War was a rushed development. This can be seen in-game with many of the textures from Black Ops 4 being reused. Could the next COD be the postponed Sledgehammer Project? Hopefully, Sledgehammer’s next project will be better than COD WW2 and Advanced Warfare.
Since the leak, Tom Henderson’s Twitter account has been suspended due to rule violations.
