Over the last decade, gamers have had to search for viable options when it came to Xbox wireless headsets. During the Xbox 360 era, players could use the standard Xbox 360 headset or a wireless earpiece. During the Xbox One era, gamers had to look for viable options to enjoy their game’s audio. Many in the industry were disgusted with the quality of the headset that came with the Xbox One. The Xbox One’s headset utilized the Xbox One’s controller USB port. Within a year or two, Microsoft would create a new version of the Xbox One controller to allow a 3.5MM jack.
For many, the 3.5 MM jack was not enough for Xbox One gamers. The sound quality of the audio was often distorted or aggravating to control. Wired headsets often had connectivity issues while connected to the Xbox One controller. Wireless headsets that worked with the Xbox One were few and far in between. So far, the best two wireless headsets we have found that are compatible with the Xbox One are the Razor Kraken and Plantronics Rig 800 LX. Although both of these headsets are convenient, they both have issues that make gamers want to pull out their hair. The Plantronics Rig 800 has issues with the mics arm breaking and creating a scratching noise; meanwhile, the Razor Kraken has connectivity issues and an over-sensitive mic.
