Believe it or not, Rainbow Six Siege has been out for five years. On Sunday, February 21st, Ubisoft revealed their plans for the Rainbox Six Season 6 content. Year 5 granted players a Match Replay option. In addition, Siege offered sight color customization, six new operators, and a reworked Tanchanka. Year 6 is slated to bring players a new game mode called Crimson Heist, a player behavioral system, new operators, skins, and maps. Below we will go over all the new changes you should be prepared for with Siege Year 6.
Crimson Heist
Season 1 of Siege Year 6 will introduce Crimson Heist. With Crimson Heist comes a new operator, Flores, a new Argentinian Operator. The map Border has been reworded for the heist. Flores is equipped with an original gadget called the RCE – Ratero Charge; Flores can deploy a remote-controlled explosive device at his feet and drive it through the map for a short period of time. At the end of the timer or when the player chooses, the device will arm itself, become bulletproof, and start a short fuze timer, at the end of which it detonates in a powerful explosion. This device is similar to an RCXD in Call of Duty Black Ops. Flores is armed with an AR33 or an SR-25 as a primary weapon and a GSH-18 as a secondary weapon.
With Crimson Heist comes the reimagined map Border. Border has been reworked with interior balcony connecting East staircase to the Break room. The bathroom has been extended to be connected to the Tellers. The reimagined version will make players think in new ways. Some former entry points will be blocked. The map will also have a reduced number of destructible walls. Now there is also and an additional outside staircase.
Siege Year 6 season 1 is available today on the PC test server. Crimson Heist is set to release on March 16th.
Year 6 Additions
Year 6 Season 1 will feature Crimson Heist, Flores, and the rework of the map Border. Later in the year, Season 2 will introduce a new Operator from the Nakoda Nations and a rework of the map Favela. During Season 3, new Operators from Croatia will join the Siege roster. In addition to new operators, Season 3 will have 3 maps slightly reworked. Then in season 4, the last Operator of year 6 will be from Ireland; Season 4 will also introduce a rework of the map Outback.
A new secondary weapon called the Gonne-6. will be added to the game. This Gonne 6 is a single bullet weapon that will break any bulletproof gadget but will do little damage to soft walls and Operators. The first version of the Gonne-6 will be available to try out in the Crimson Heist test server for operators Glaz, Dokkaebi, Lion, Finka, Gridlock, Amaru, Iana, and Zero.
Siege Year 6 will introduce some significant changes to the game. In the future, the player will be able to control cameras and gadgets after their death. Players will be allowed to change their Operators and loadouts during the preparation phase in-between attack and defense. Finally, Armor will be shown as Health to make it easier for players to understand how much damage they can take.
A new Elite skin for Kali: Masterframe Prototype will release on February 22. A Jill Valentine-themed skin will be available for Zofia. On March 2nd, a new series of skins will be released starting with Echo and Dokkaebi.
Streamer Support
A streamer mode has been designed for content creators to control their anonymity when playing. This tool will allow streamers to hide their tag, region and ping; it will also allow them to hide everyone else’s info in the match. This mode also includes a hidden matchmaking delay, hide their current clearance level and profile image.
