Earlier this month, Blizzard held their annual Blizzcon but with a twist. Instead of an in-person event, Blizzard announced BlizzConLine, a digital version of their media event. During the event, Blizzard announced Diablo 2 Resurrected and the Blizzard Arcade Collection. In addition to the two new games announced, Blizzard revealed new expansions for their top titles. Hearthstone will receive anew expansion called Forged In The Barrens. The Burning Crusade Expansion will be coming to coming to WoW Classic. The rogue class was revealed for Diablo 4. Finally, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ first major update is called Chains Of Domination. Although all of these announcements are exciting, fans seem to be most excited for Diablo 2 Resurrected.
Diablo 2 was first released in June of 2000. At the moment, no official date has been announced beyond a 2021 release date. With the game set to release later this year, there are a few things everyone needs to know before its release.
Diablo II: Resurrected will feature new enhanced 3D graphics. All cinematics will be recreated and updated, shot for shot. The base game is set to remain the same with developers stating that the voice acting and story will not change. This provides a fun new experience for seasoned veterans while introducing new players to Diablo 2. Diablo 2 Resurrected will also have cross-platform progression between PC and consoles. Diablo 2 Resurrected will be a full HD remaster of the original game and its expansion, Lord of Destruction. The game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch. Diablo II: Resurrected will also support mods.
