Good things come to those who wait, and for PlayStation players, the wait is almost over. Nearly two years after its launch, Studio ZA/UM, is poised to launch Disco Elysium-The Final Cut for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadi. Fortunately for fans of Disco Elysium, the release of Disco Elysium-The Final Cut is closer than ever before.
The news comes straight from the Studio ZA/UM through a press release by Dead Good PR. The release date news follows the teasing of the game’s launch during The Game Awards broadcast in December 2020. The press release confirms the release date of Tuesday, March 30th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia. Additionally, existing owners of Disco Elysium will receive Disco Elysium-The Final Cut for free at no additional cost. Disco Elysium-The Final Cut will receive a plethora of Quality of Life improvements from the base game, but the biggest addition to Disco Elysium-The Final Cut is the inclusion of brand-new vision quests, along with many more options to leave a larger impact on the world.
Disco Elysium-The Final Cut is the new and improved version of the 2019 multi-award-winning RPG, Disco Elysium. As a detective in a dystopic world, players interact with each and every character encountered, solving a multitude of crimes while navigating a living, breathing futuristic world. With its multi-layered themes and political commentaries, Disco Elysium-The Final Cut invites players into a world where their choices have real consequences, and every character is not background dressing but an actual being with meaningful impacts on the world. Be the best detective or the worst. Become malevolent and selfish or benevolent and selfless. The choice is up to the player.
Disco Elysium-The Final Cut certainly comes at the right time, as culturally-speaking, the world is coming to grips with the polarizing actions and decisions of world governments, as well as their incompetence in dealing with real problems, such as COVID-19, white supremacy, and racism. Disco Elysium doesn’t shy away from its political theming and was lauded for its honest takes on communism, centrism, and liberalism. While many have played Disco Elyisum, especially given the Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, it will be interesting to see how the players of PlayStation and Google Stadia take to this fascinating journey of governments and people.
Disco Elysium-The Final Cut launches on March 30th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia, with a free upgrade for all existing owners of Disco Elysium on other platforms.
