When it comes to Microsoft and Xbox, you are never quite sure what to expect. Since the creation of the Xbox, Microsoft has come up with eccentric ways to market the Xbox brand. Whether it be Xbox FanFest, The Duke, or a Refrigerator, Microsoft knows how to garner attention; let’s not forget about Keanu Reeves showing up during the Xbox Press Conference for Cyberpunk 2077. Now, Xbox has announced a new collaboration this time with your body on the line. No, we are not talking about the Xbox Gamer body wash, but something flashier. Prepare for the Xbox Adidas shoe later this year!
According to a document obtained by Complex, Adidas is partnering with Xbox this year for a series of co-branded sneakers. The first Xbox Adidas shoes are scheduled to be released in June, with alternate variations to come. Most likely, this shoe collaboration will be announced during the E3 2021 Xbox Press Conference. At the moment, neither Adidas nor Xbox has announced the collaboration but said Adidas document received by Complex breaks down the brand’s plans for the upcoming Xbox sneakers.
First will be a promo version of a new Xbox Adidas shoe called the Forum Tech Boost, which is planned for June (style number GZ3733). Then two additional styles of Adidas’ retro Forum Mid basketball sneaker (style numbers GW7794 and GW7795) will be available in October. Then in November, a different variant the Forum Tech will release in November (style number GW2646). The leaked schedule also references more Xbox-themed Adidas sneakers scheduled for 2022. All of the sneakers are expected to come in a black and green box with the Xbox logo on it.
Concept Art
Shown above is a work-in-progress concept of the upcoming Xbox Adidas shoe, Forum Tech Boost. The sneaker has an Xbox logo on its upper outward side, visible Boost cushioning, technical mesh made to look like the Xbox Series X console, and synthetic leather. As this is concept art of the Forum Tech Boost, the final version of the sneaker that is set to release later this year could look significantly different.
