School is coming early this Summer, especially if you are a fan of Danganronpa fan. During the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct, Spike Chunsoft announced Danganronpa Decadence, a compilation of the first three installments of the Danganronpa franchise, and also includes a brand-new installment in the Danganronpa franchise, Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp.
The news comes from Spike Chunsoft through a press release, following the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, June 15th. The trailer for Danganronpa Decadence showcases clips from each mainline Danganronpa game. The trilogy focuses on a group of classmates, surviving the twisted antics of a serial killer, and a crazed panda. Trapped inside of a school, the classmates must find out who the murderer is, which involves discovering crime scenes, hosting trials, and potentially murdering the other classmates. Following clips of the original games, the trailer then opens to a brand-new title to be included in Danganronpa Decadence, titled Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp is a spinoff of the mainline Danganronpa series, taking characters from the entire franchise and having players live their best days on the tropical island of Jabberwock Island. Players will engage in battle, find treasure, and enjoy fun in the sun.
In addition to the announcement of Danganronpa Decadence, a physical edition of Danganronpa Decadence will be available in 2021. Danganronpa Decadence will contain Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition, and Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. This physical edition will be an actual physical edition, with all games on one physical cart. As a convenience, Danganronpa will make each game available digitally on its own on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Danganropa has been revered for its characters, story, art style, and unique chemistry with its gameplay. The franchise managed to make a miraculous community and base on PlayStation 4, but most especially on PlayStation Vita. The handheld console provided an extremely unique offering for those seeking a different experience. With Danganronpa Decadence, the franchise gets to be seen by a large, new audience, and perhaps, gains another big wave of support. The game industry could use more games in the style and substance like Danganronpa, and this release is sure to make waves.
