GTA Online Ending on 360 and PS3

GTA Online Shutting Down

For nearly a decade, criminals around the world have had the opportunity to blow each other up, go on heists, and steal cars around the fictional city of Los Santos (Los Angeles). Grand Theft Auto V released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in September of 2013. Since then, Rockstar has released multiple DLCs for GTA Online. If you do not want to put the hours in, players can purchase Megalodon Shark credits to catch up or buy unique items. This last year, GTA 5 was available to Epic Game Store users for free. Later this year, GTA V and GTA Online will be coming to the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, leading to a long-awaited farewell.

With many ongoing games launching on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, many companies have decided to cease operations for older platforms. During E3 week, Rockstar has announced that they will be ceasing operations for GTA Online for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. On the Rockstar news wire, Rockstar announced that the 360 and PS3 versions of GTA will be shutting down on December 16th, 2021. Additionally, Shark Cash Cards for GTA Online will no longer be sold for the PS3 and Xbox 360 after September 15th, 2021. Finally, website tracking for Rockstar Games Social Club and other GTA Online experiences will cease operation on September 16th, 2021.
