tinyBuild has announced the highly anticipated RPG UnDungeon is on its way to Xbox and PC and will be launching on November the 18th. In addition to Xbox and PC, this universe-ripping role-playing game will also be available on Xbox GamePass on its launch day.
The news comes from Seattle-based publisher tinyBuild and game developer Laughing Machines. UnDungeon is a sci-fi action RPG set in a distant future in a universe unfamiliar to our own. Players are Void, a special messenger created in one’s dimension on a mission of utmost importance. Void travels to the city of Achaban to collect six seals belonging to other worlds. In transit, the multiverse is sent awry through a terrible cataclysm, leaving void stranded in a bizarre, alien desert. With the universe literally falling apart, Void races to Archeban in an attempt to save not just his dimension, but the dimensions of many.
Game Description
UnDungeon is a vast open-world beyond imagination. The calamity causes a fundamental shift in existence, and players will be encountering unknown entities, both friendly and hostile. Players meet an assortment of exotic inhabitants, but what they do is entirely up to them. Players can work with inhabitants through trading and purchasing goods. During the playthrough, players may also recruit inhabitants to fight enemies in real-time battles. If players are feeling particularly evil, they can obliterate said inhabitants, destroying camps and looting their resources. An additional important aspect to UnDungeon is loot but not just any loot. As a dimension being, Void loots the organs of fallen enemies. The Core is the main organ of Void, and using organs wisely creates different builds, from applying damage to recruiting friends to use speed and even tank. Players may craft organs as well to betting suit their needs.
While the year is coming to an end, UnDungeon is shaping to be another incredibly exciting and eclectic offering from tinyBuild. Its focus on cosmic calamity and existential realities colliding together already sound like an extremely intriguing concept. The use of organs also sounds remarkably different from the use of traditional loot-based RPGs. How this story unfolds and weaves itself together remains to be seen, but I cannot wait to embark on the quest to the City of Achaban.
UnDungeon release November 18th for Steam, Xbox, and Xbox Game Pass.
