Andrew Garfield Rumored To Star in Multiple Marvel Properties for Sony

Andrew Garfield Spider-Man

According to Inside the Magic, Andrew Garfield is rumored to be in talks for multiple upcoming Spider-Man films with fans hoping for Snydercut-style movement that would see the oscar-nominated actor return for Amazing Spider-Man 3. The news comes on the heels of the successful opening of Spider-Man: No Way Home, as Garfield continued to deny his participation in the film. While this is a rumor, for now, the possibility of Garfield returning is welcome news to fans. Famously in the lead up to Amazing Spider-Man, Garfield read a letter to Comic-Con talking about how much the character meant to him; much to the joy of fans in Hall H, thus endearing himself to those who were concerned about a new webhead so soon after Sam Raimi’s divisive Spider-Man 3.

Could Garfield Return?

While there had been talk of several more films with the actor, including a potential Sinister Six spinoff, all of that went away when Kevin Feige told Amy Pascal Sony’s best bet was to simply let Marvel studios help make a new iteration of the character. In the years since, Garfield has made quite a name for himself in the industry with incredible performances in Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and most recently the directorial debut of Hamilton’s Lin Manuel Miranda, Tick Tick…Boom.

Even with all this success, fans have always felt that Andrew Garfield deserved a third film and now they might get their wish; with critics and fans speculating it could become the Spider-Man of Venom‘s world or even a mentor to fan-favorite Miles Morales. Granted, some of this may be a little out there, but it’s nice to see a Groundswell of support for the actor. Let’s hope Sony makes this rumor a reality. We’ll update you in the weeks and months ahead with any potential updates!

What do you think true believers? Are the rumors of more Spidey for Andrew Garfield potentially true? Where would you like to see him pop up next?
