The Batman Trailer Shows The Bat Facing off with The Cat

The Batman and Catwoman

The third and hopefully final The Batman trailer has arrived online. The new iteration of the Dark Knight stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Andy Serkis. You can watch the trailer entitled “The Bat and The Cat” down below. Fans get a much fuller picture of the Bruce and Selina dynamic, essentially building on what we have seen in previous trailers. Amid glimpses of a Batman and Catwoman fighting, Bruce wonders whether or not he can trust her as they struggle to battle with the Riddler. The Riddler’s mind games may or may not be causing a rift between Alfred and the caped crusader as Bruce accuses him of lying.

In addition, there’s a lot of legacy talk as Bruce is reminded that his parents gave back to the city. This conversation is juxtaposed with the Penguin chase scene which we’ve been seeing throughout the previous trailers; this time showcasing Director of Photography Greig Fraser’s beautiful work, featuring new angles. While this is a theme that is often highlighted throughout the Batman mythos, it’s interesting to see it take center stage here in this trailer. This reminds us that Bruce’s way of giving back to the city is going to be different from how the last generation of Wayne’s have done things, all while highlighting how enigmatic Bruce Wayne is to the people of Gotham

Eventual Release

Overall, while this trailer works, I’m really hoping this is going to be the last trailer for the film, especially with the film being just over two months away. Hopefully, this film will be worth the wait. We’ll find out when the film opens on March 4, 2022. Are you excited to see Batman and Catwoman together onscreen again? Did Alfred really lie to him or is this a part of The Riddler’s plan?
