Today has been an epic Day for Ubisoft which just announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s next major expansion, Dawn of Ragnarök, will be releasing March 10, 2022. If you’re wondering more about this, Dawn of Ragnarök will be available as a separate purchase for USD 39.99 by all owners of the main game. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store. Players can also subscribe to Ubisoft+ on PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
In this Dawn of Ragnarök, according to Ubisoft Sofia “Eivor must embrace their destiny as Odin, the Norse god of Battle and Wisdom. The dwarven kingdom of Svartalfheim is crumbling, and amid the chaos, Odin’s beloved son, Baldr, has been taken prisoner by the unkillable fire giant, Surtr.” In Dawn of Ragnarök, players will be able to unleash new divine powers as they continue their legendary Viking saga by embarking on a desperate rescue quest through a mythological world of contrasts. From the screenshots I saw, it is a brand-new world for sure, so new lands with new enemies, also as can see new weapons alongside with new armor and of course a new mount that looks like a War Boar from some of the concept art I saw, and I am excited for this new adventure in the world of Assassin Creed Valhalla.
All players purchasing Dawn of Ragnarök between Dec 13, 2021, and April 9, 2022, will receive the Twilight Pack and will have immediate access to the items in the main game. This exclusive bonus includes the Dellingr’s Envoy Raven Skin, the Havardr Lynx Mount, the Twilight Gear Set, and the Algurnir Dane Axe Weapon. This pack looks wicked for sure, and I will for sure want this pack by the time Ragnarök comes out, especially that Dane Axe weapons because that is my favorite weapon in Valhalla.
Additionally, Ubisoft also announced an Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories, with two stories that feature Eivor and Kassandra available for fans tomorrow, December 14. Both stories are available for free for owners of the respective base games, with one story featuring Eivor and Kassandra available in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and one story featuring Kassandra or Alexios available in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Checking out this free cross-over DLC will be fun for sure, these cross-over events that Ubisoft has done in the past for many of their games have always been great, so looking forward to this for sure. So, this for sure will keep us a bit happy for now until Dawn of Ragnarök comes out in 2022.
For many of the Assassin Creed games in the past there are a few prerequisites in order to access extra content. In this case in order to access the free DLC for the Assassin Creed Stories players must have reached player Settlement Level 4 and have completed the quest “A Wise Friend,” where Eivor helps Valka establish herself in Ravensthorpe. For the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey story, Those Who Are Treasured, players will need to have completed Chapter 1 and reached Megaris to access the content, but it’s recommended that players finish the main game’s three-story arcs (Family, Cult of Kosmos, and Mythology) to avoid spoilers. Hopefully, this information from Ubisoft will help you know when you can access the content because in the past players have always wondered how far they have to progress to check out any new content that Ubisoft give to us or even limited time events.
From what we know so far, the amount of news coming from Ubisoft, with their next major expansion that is a standalone game, with the new cross-over stories between two amazing titles in the world of Assassin Creed, how much more stuff can we expect? Will there be more cross-over events stories line? Between now and March feels like a long time, so if you haven’t jumped in Assassin Creed Valhalla, I suggest you start now before the next expansion drops in March, the number of contents you have for Valhalla right now is enough to keep you busy for sure.
