Dying Light 2 Stay Human Skill Tree Revealed

After months of delays, Techland’s Dying Light 2 Stay Human is set to release early next month. Over the last three years, we have tried to keep a close eye on Techland’s upcoming sequel to the popular Zombie survival game, Dying Light. Just like the first Dying Light, Dying Light 2 Stay Human will make players make difficult choices. The events of Dying Light 2 Stay Human take place 20 years after the events of the first. Talented in terrain mobility, Aiden Caldwell looks to survive by any means necessary. Yesterday, Techland unveiled some of the Dying Light 2 Stay Human skill tree abilities.

In the latest Dying Light 2 Stay Human trailer, Techland shows off some of Aiden Caldwell’s combat and parkour abilities. The trailer shows a handful of Dying Light 2 Stay Human Skill tree skills that players can unlock as they progress through the world. The newest trailer shows off six of Aiden’s abilities.

Similar to Dying Light, Dying Light 2 features separate combat and parkour skill trees. The original game also had a survivor skill tree, however, from the trailer its does not appear to be in the sequel.

Combat Skills

The first ability shown in the trailer is the Block Charge. While blocking, charge at an enemy in front of you. This combat ability makes the player lunge at their enemy and tackle them to the ground. In the visual example, the person gets tackled off of a rooftop.

The second ability is Perfect Parry, which rewards players who time their blocks. Blocking at the right time will stagger opponents. This mechanic allows players to break out of defensive situations and fight back. This helps to fix a reoccurring issue that appeared in the original Dying Light.

The third and final combat ability showcased is Ground Pound. This ability was previously in Dying Light but has been reworked to suit Aiden’s abilities; the ability no longer requires a two-handed weapon. When performed in mid-air, the player will slam the ground and stun enemies around them.

Parkour Skills

The first Parkour skill showcased was Far Jump. Far Jump has Aiden use any obstacle to maneuver through the environment, spring from it, and jump further.

The second connected Parkour skill is Bash. Bash allows Aiden to smash through obstacles and enemies without stopping. In the trailer, Aiden is shown passing throw slowed Zombies to more through the map.

The third and final Parkour ability showcased is Tic Tac. With Tic Tac, the player will run alongside horizontal surfaces. This will make it easier for the player to survive on buildings.

Combination Skills

Players can combine skills to be more efficient. Using the combat skill Grapple allows the player to throw their enemies. Once the enemy is down, using the skill Stomp allows the player to execute the enemy instantly. Players can also combine their Parkour skills to move around. By using the Dart skill to increase their running speed. Using the Dart skill with Double Jump, the player can vault over obstacles.

Dying Light 2 will release on February 4th, 2022, on PC, Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
