Yesterday, during Sony’s PlayStation State of Play, a new trailer for Ghostwire: Tokyo was revealed. As the world prepares for the launch of Ghostwire: Tokyo on March 25th, 2022, on the PlayStation 5 and PC, Tango Games and Bethesda Softworks unveiled a new trailer. This trailer gave a deeper insight into what Ghostwire: Tokyo truly is; the game will be a psychological thriller involving the spiritual aspects of Japan. The player’s abilities remind us of abilities seen in YuYu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter. So what does the trailer show us that upcoming previews will not?
During the Ghostwire: Tokyo PlayStation State of Play, viewers gain a deeper understanding of Ghostwire‘s world. We learn that the reason for the disappearance of most citizens is due to a ritual sacrifice. This ritual would bridge the living world with the underworld. The trailer gives hints as to what the enemies will be throughout the game, either as common enemies or bosses. Take on Hannya and his followers, the Visitors, who have invaded Tokyo and snatched its citizens.
Protagonist Background
“You are Akito: a young man who finds himself among the last surviving human beings left in the city. Just then, the city is invaded by a cadre of paranormal creatures, ghostly apparitions, living urban legends, and more – all seemingly the work of a mysterious masked man simply known as Hannya.
To stay alive, you must team up with a spectral ally of your own – the lost spirit of a rugged detective that goes by KK. Akito and KK share the same goal in their pursuit of Hannya, though it may seem as though your ghostly cohort is following an agenda of his own.” – Bethesda
