When it comes to Call of Duty, a good majority of Call of Duty fans have their favorite game. Many Call of Duty fans will argue about whether Black Ops or Modern Warfare is better. Personally, I am on team Call of Duty Black Ops, but I can respect those that love the Modern Warfare franchise. Last month when a teaser for Call of Duty Modern Warfare II was released prematurely, the Call of Duty fan base became excited. Will Activision redeem itself after killing most of the beloved characters in Modern Warfare 3? Are you ready for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II trailer?
Rather than a basic cinematic trailer, Activision went one step further showcasing a gameplay trailer during Summer Game Fest. The Trailer known as Operation Dark Water is underway. Here is what the developers had to say about the trailer and the game.
An oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico is storing the cargo that could spark a global conflict.
Task Force 141 found intel that shows missiles hidden on board and have dispatched a team of Soap, Ghost, and Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas, along with Shadow Company, enter a ship full of well-armed AQ enemies to locate the controls for a missile bound for the US.
In Dark Water, players will be challenged to contend with enemy forces while shifting across a boat and avoiding enemy fire and being crushed by shipping containers… but there’s much more to the mission.
Trailer Takeaway
The water effects in the trailer look great, with the water hitting each character leaving a mark. Even the slightest misstep can mean death. Operation Dark water focuses more on team accountability and movements; in the trailer, we see the player clearing corners, watching their allies back, and even throwing a grenade out of harm. Operation Dark Water reminds us of the popular Call of Duty 4 map Wet Work. The end of the trailer shows players that they will be in for a wild ride.
Will you pick up Call of Duty Modern Warfare II when it releases on October 28th?
