The Pokemon Company has been toying with the idea of an open-world Pokémon adventure for quite some time. This January saw Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which drastically changed the Pokémon formula. As confirmed during the Pokemon Presents February 2022 stream, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet would be adopting a similar open-world formula.
