July is finally coming to an end and with it comes the release of Digimon Survive and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. In addition to two blockbuster titles releasing, Xbox and PlayStation have revealed the free games for the month of August. The August 2022 PS+ & Games with Gold titles will give players around the world a variety of games to choose from including multiple AAA titles; however, one offering will leave some fans disappointed. So which free subscription-based offering will win over fans? Which one will leave fans considering other options? Let’s dive into the August 2022 PS+ and Games with Gold offerings coming next month.
Whenever it comes to free titles, some fans will state that as long as it is free nothing could be wrong. After looking at the August 2022 Games with Gold titles, many Xbox fans will reconsider this positioning. Looking at the August Games with Gold titles all four titles seem interesting and potentially fun; however, looking at the lineup something seemed off. Because of this gut feeling, we decided to look at what the previous Games with Titles were. Looking back at the list of games, we found that this month marks the first time that two Games with Gold titles have been repeated.
Games with Gold
The August 2022 Games with Gold titles are Calico, ScourgeBringer, Saint’s Row 2, and Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine. Saints Row 2 was previously part of the Games with Gold program in July of 2020. Meanwhile Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine was one of the first Games with Gold titles in September of 2014. The reoffering of Saints Row 2 could be due to the upcoming release of Saints Row on August 23rd.

August 2022 PS+ Offers
Despite the introduction to the PlayStation Plus tiers, PlayStations Plus members can still look forward to three free games during August. The three free titles are all renowned titles with a variety of gameplay styles. The August 2022 PS+ offers are Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, and Little Nightmares. The three titles will be free from August 2nd to September 6th, 2022.
Remember, the July PS+ titles will leave PlayStation Plus on August 1st; the July titles were Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Man of Medan, and Arcadegeddon.
Looking at both the August 2022 PS+ and Games with Gold offerings, it is easy to say that the PlayStation Plus offerings are more modern titles. Those who have had Xbox Live Gold for over a decade should feel disappointed by the August 2022 Games with Gold Offers. Which of the free games will you pick up?
