The effects of the 2020 COVID 19 pandemic have been in full swing. Many games set to release in 2022 have unfortunately been delayed. Fans have been anticipating a release date reveal for Bayonetta 3, since 2021’s first look gameplay trailer. Yesterday, Nintendo surprised fans with an unscheduled Kirby announcement, via their official YouTube channel. Today, Nintendo released an all-new Bayonetta 3 trailer. The 3-and-a-half-minute trailer gives fans another glimpse at gameplay, in addition to finally revealing the official October release date.
Additional Bayonetta 3 Details Revealed
- A Bounty of Bayonettas: Meet a veritable coven of Bayonettas! Each more fabulous than the last, while fighting through the streets of Tokyo, the mountains of China, and beyond! Along the way, find out if this arcane alliance can really save humanity and what fate awaits this bunch of Bayonettas.
- Rough Up Rivals as Viola: In addition to Bayonetta, players will also control the feisty witch-in-training Viola, who is ready to unleash hell on the Homunculi with her sword and her capricious companion, the feline demon Cheshire.
Trinity Masquerade Edition
The trailer also revealed that in addition to the standard release of Bayonetta 3, a Trinity Masquerade Edition will also be available at select retailers and on the My Nintendo Store. This edition will feature a full-color 200-page art book and 3 reversible game cases for each Bayonetta adventure. There are no further details at this time.

Physical Release of the original Bayonetta
Additionally, a physical release of the first Bayonetta will be heading to Nintendo Switch. These physical units will be in limited supply and will be available to pre-order at launch on the My Nintendo Store, and at participating retailers. The physical release will be available on September 30th for $29.99 USD.
