Ben Affleck is about to enter the Batcave one more time. In an Instagram post, Aquaman star Jason Momoa posted a picture of himself and Affleck, the caption underneath confirming that Affleck would appear in the upcoming sequel.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom also stars Patrick Wilson as Orm, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Yayah Abdul Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanta. Not much is known about the plot of the film but according to the deposition of Walter Hamada during the Depp-Heard trial, the film will be something of a two-hander with Aquaman and Orm. James Wan returns to direct from a script co-written by David Leslie McGoldrick and Momoa.

This marks another turnaround for Ben Affleck who had repeatedly stated that he was done playing Batman, a fact that was occasionally played to comedic effect at times. Later, it was revealed that his experience in Justice League was a contributing factor to Affleck’s relapse into alcoholism. Fans rejoiced when it was announced that Affleck would be returning to the role for the Flash which Affleck insinuated would be his swan song with the Caped Crusader. While it’s hard to say what Affleck’s role will consist of in Arthur Curry’s next big screen outing, it’s fair to say many fans are going to be excited by another return from Affleck. I can’t wait to see how Batman factors in when Aquaman hits theaters on March 17, 2023.
