Deku All might, Mount Lady, and other heroes can be chosen and assembled into teams, as well as villains. As seen in the show, each Hero or villain has their very own Quirk, which varies in strength, abilities, and other attributes. By using these quirks o their best potential can players hope to achieve victory. Players can rely on the nimbleness of Froppy or the sheer size of Mount Lady, while also tapping into the immeasurable power of All might, or using a more balanced character, like Deku. The trailer reveals several characters in action, including their English voiceovers, as the heroes and villains battle each other, saving or terrorizing the civilians strewn about the battlefield.
My Hero Ultra Rumble will be free-to-play, the specific of which were not announced. It is unknown if it will be free-to-play in the vein of Fortnite, where a campaign with PVE events can be purchased, along with additional seasons, but cosmetic items and new outfits will be available for purchase. A Closed Beta has been currently announced for the PlayStation 4. Those fortunate enough to attend Anime Expo 2022 will receive a code, giving them priority to sign up for the Beta and gain the earliest access. Finally, it was confirmed that My Hero Ultra Rumble is heading to not only PlayStation, but Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam as well. Further details at the panel reveal news of the new season of My Hero Academia where the Heroes and Villains launch an all-out war against each other in the Paranormal Liberation Arc, along with two new OVA’s releasing for Crunchyroll.
This is a nice and exciting take for the My Hero Academia, which in hindsight, makes for a better all-out action game than a fighting game. The fighting titles, My Hero Academia: One’s Justice and My Hero Academia: One’s Justice 2 were strong, stylish, and competent fighting games, but seemed to be amiss, being that the key action mechanic of My hero Academia wasn’t necessarily to fight one-on-one but to instead use quirks to defeat foes. It almost seems like a game better suited to the minds behind Vanquish and Bayonetta but those aforementioned titles were neat. Now, with My Hero Ultra Rumble, the franchise goes all in on the action. With the wide release of the game, there is the chance for My Hero Ultra Rumble to attract a large base of players can provide something new and exciting for casual players and fans of My Hero Academia.
My Hero Ultra Rumble launches sometime in 2022 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam as a free-to-play title.
