Xbox players, it’s time to roll for initiative. The critically and commercially acclaimed turn-based tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister has arrived on Game Pass for console and PC. This RPG, greatly inspired by pen & paper RPGs, tests players on their proficiency in combat and tactics on vertical battlefields.
ID@Xbox took to YouTube to celebrate the game’s release. Solasta: Crown of the Magister is an authentic tabletop game come to life. The team at Tactical Adventures received a license from Wizards of The Coast to use the Dungeons and Dragons SRD 5.1 Ruleset as the foundation for Solasta: Crown of the Magister. Just like the game it’s based on, players meticulously and creatively craft their team of heroes, and once they are ready, they embark on a campaign of plundering dungeons for loot and glory. Using the environment, players exploit weaknesses and advantages to win the many battle they will face. Learning to fight vertically, and securing the high ground, are essential for victory. Destroying a bridge may cut off enemy reinforcements and leave them vulnerable to attack.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister originally launched May 27th, 2021 on Steam, before making its way to console. The game has received unanimous praise for its design, receiving a “Very Positive” rating out of over 10,000 user reviews as of this posting. With the release on Xbox Game Pass, more now have access to the game. Additionally, all of the DLC associated with Solasta: Crown of the Magister is available on console as well, including multiplayer.
There are many adaptations of TTRPG’s, from Ogre to Spacehulk, but Solasta appears to be the one that gives strategy enthusiasts and TTRPG die-hards everything they want and anything they need. A challenge worthy of the Gods for those that wish to test their mettle, or a solid tactical fantasy experience for those unfamiliar to the genre. The game is sure to please anyone looking to fight in a mystical world with their wits and magic.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister is now available on Game Pass PC and Xbox Series X.
