To sweeten the deal, Team 17 has announced Premium DLC to coincide with the inclusion of premium DLC, The Chrono Trap. In addition to everything the Cornucopia Update brings, the Chronos Trap brings the new Endless Mode, and a new titan, Cronos.
Neon Abyss
Neon Abyss is a side-scrolling action-packed run’n’gun shooter with a bevy of deep roguelike mechanics. Players are part of “The Grim Squad” an elite team of fighters assembled by Hades himself. The goal is to plunder the depths of the Abyss and destroy the New Gods that reside there. Every death isn’t the need. This is the realm of the afterlife, and death is only the beginning of true power. Neon Abyss launched in July 2020, releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, and then being upgraded for PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. As of this posting, Neon Abyss is a huge success for publisher Team 17 and Veewoo Games, garnering a “Very Positive” review out of over 15,000 user reviews.
It’s great to see how Neon Abyss not only continues to remain popular but also continues to receive support two years later. Neon Abyss came out during an incredibly turbulent time in both gaming and global affairs and it’s fantastic to see that the game not only found footing but an audience, something that could have been derailed given the circumstances of how social events were at the time. Additionally, it can be argued the genre has been done to near death, but Neon Abyss proves there is still more imagination to pursue in the roguelike space. Here’s to more runs.
