Rockers, we are already a third of the way through September; that’s right soon we will have to wake Billie Joe Armstrong up for Spooky season. If you do not get that joke then you might enjoy some of the games on the September 2022 PS+ and Games with Gold offers. Over the last year, the PlayStation Plus lineup has gradually become more impressive while the Games with Gold lineup has gone downhill. September will mark the last month of Xbox 360 games being a part of the Games with Gold program. So what are the September 2022 PS+ and Games with Gold offers?
Let’s first discuss what the September 2022 PS+ and Games with Gold offers are. Then we will state why we feel the one is better than the other.
September 2022 PS+ Offers
Up first is the September 2022 PS+ offers. These offers will be available from September 6th to October 3rd. The September 2022 PS+ offers are:
- Need for Speed Heat
- Granblue Fantasy: Versus
- Toem: A Photo Adventure
Out of the three titles, we have only played Need for Speed Heat. The other two titles do look interesting but we will have to wait to check them out.
September 2022 Games with Gold Offers
As previously stated, September 2022 marks the end of Xbox 360 games being a part of the Games with Gold. We will have to wait and see if this is true or not; however, the final title chosen is a great choice. The September 2022 Games with Gold titles are:
- Gods Will Fall (September 1-30)
- Double Kick Heroes (September 16-October 15)
- Thrillville (September 1-15)
- Portal 2 (September 16-30)
Battle
If we are looking at the two offerings based on notoriety and namesake, the September Games with Gold offer wins. If we are talking about overall gameplay, we’d also have to give it to the Games with Gold offers.
The PlayStation Plus line-up does offer two notable titles but Need for Speed Heat felt unfinished when it launched with the campaign ending unsatisfyingly. Granblue Fantasy: Versus received a relatively average score of around a 7 out of 10; the game takes the popular RPG series and turns it into a fighting game.
On the Games with Gold side, Double Kick Heroes was already an Xbox Game Pass game; while it was on the service it was beloved. This makes it an excellent game for Games with Gold. Portal 2 is renowned for its achievements and its game modes. Both the single-player and multiplayer modes will bring a smile and potentially a tear to your face. As for Thrillville, it was an interesting attempt to create a 3D Roller Coaster Tycoon. Like Predator, we have yet to try Gods Will Fall.
So based on experiences, we’d give the advantage to Games with Gold. If you have both subscriptions we’d recommend picking up Double Kick Heroes and Portal 2. The other titles are on a case-by-case basis.
