The Pokémon Company just released a new trailer titled ‘The Newest Chapters in the Pokémon Series’ with more information for the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. In this trailer we saw multiple returning concepts and a bigger look at the world, along with a new Pokémon you may have missed! Let’s look into this a little deeper!
A Storied Trailer
This trailer featured the song Celestial by Ed Sheeran, an uplifting and motivational song. The majority of the trailer really didn’t show us too much new information on the new games, instead going for a more story telling approach. The trailer shows a trainer going to challenge Brassius’ Grass Terra Studewood with a water Terra Quaxly and it gets defeated. The trainer then goes on a long quest throughout the trailer catching new Pokémon, training, playing with friends and eventually becoming stronger and succeeding in fighting other gym leaders. You also get a short glimpse at new Pokémon forms and a new Tera Type!
Our First Look At Future/Past Forms
We were offered our first look at a Pokémon’s future and past forms with Donphan. We see half way through the trailer that a Donphan and Tyranitar are battling, pretty normal stuff. But if you keep watching we see Arven show us two drawings of a Pokémon that looks easily similar to Donphan in both instances. These are our first looks at both past and future forms of Donphan including short footage of the actual Pokémon. This is the first official look we have had at past and future forms, and there are said to be more for different Pokémon still yet to be revealed!
Dragon Type Terastallization
Towards the end of the video we see a Dragapult Terastallize with a dragon type, I believe the first time this has been revealed. This all but confirms that ALL Pokémon types will be available to Terastallize into in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. But whether some Tera Types are only available in the Tera Raid Dens or if all will be available in the wild is yet to be seen.
As a game enthusiast, I can’t wait to play this game once it finally releases in a week and a half. You can pick up your own copy of either Pokémon Scarlet or Violet from many retailers starting November 18th. The games will retail at $59.99 each, or $119.98 for a double pack including both. I will be playing Pokémon Scarlet myself after I pick it up from midnight release on November 18th, and will be streaming it on my YouTube, Twitch, or maybe both! Be sure to stop by my streams if you are interested!
