Rockers, we are halfway through January and you know what that means. We have almost made it through the first month of 2023 without any catastrophes. Now, hopefully, we are not jinxing anything, because we are looking forward to PAX East 2023 and E3 2023. 2023 is already off to a great start with the release of One Piece Odyssey and Shieldmaiden: Remix Edition. Gamers around the globe can also look forward to Forspoken, Dead Space, Hogwarts Legacy, and Wanted: Dead. With such exciting games coming up and a killer Fall 2022 line-up, what point is there to redeeming the January 2023 PS+ and Games with Gold titles?
Since the removal of Xbox 360 and Xbox Original games, Microsoft’s Games with Gold program has felt insignificant. Although there are some good games in the offering, they do not hold a candle to what Sony has been offering as part of PlayStation Plus. During the last two months, the Games with Gold offerings were Praetorians – HD Remaster & Dead End Job (November) followed by Colt Canyon & Bladed Fury (January); Bladed Fury was free until January 15th.
When you compare the November and December Games with Gold to the PlayStation Plus offerings, it is night vs day. The November PlayStation Plus offerings were Nioh 2, Heavenly Bodies, and the Lego Harry Potter Collection. These were followed up by Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant, and Divine Knockout. Easy to say, PlayStation is trying to coerce Xbox users over with strong offerings while fighting Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard.
January 2023 PS+ & GWG Offerings
Now that we looked back at what the November and December 2022 PS+ and Games with Gold titles were, let us look at the January 2023 PS+ and Games with Gold offerings. The January 2023 Games with Gold are:
Iris Fall – Which is available from January 1st to January 31st.
Autonauts – This is available now from January 16th to February 15th.
Meanwhile, the January 2023 PlayStation + continues to blow away the Games with Gold offerings. The January 2023 PS + offerings are Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2.
