WWE 2K23 Gets Release Date & More

WWE 2K23 John Cena

Although we might not always agree with WWE’s actions, we still look forward to their games. Despite WWE potentially being up for sale with a variety of potential buyers, 2K and Visual Concepts have pushed forward with the upcoming release of WWE 2K23. No, we do not have to worry about anyone being fired, thankfully. Despite some bugginess with WWE 2K22, the game was adequately received and featured fewer bugs than in previous games. Last year, we reviewed WWE 2K22 and gave it a solid 7 out of 10. Hopefully, this year Visual Concepts will be able to continue to improve the WWE 2K Games.

Prior to Monday’s WWE 2K23 announcement not much information about the game had been revealed. Now, we know that WWE 2K23 will launch on March 17th, 2023; those who have the Deluxe Edition will have access starting on March 14th. WWE 2K23 is planned to be released on PC (via Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game will feature John Cena on the front cover to commemorate Cena’s 20-year anniversary with WWE.

John Cena said, “It is a pleasure to tell the story of my career through the WWE 2K23 Showcase. 2K has done a fantastic job capturing and invigorating the WWE 2K franchise through this concept, and I am honored to grace the cover of WWE 2K23.”

Unlike in previous years, the WWE 2K23 showcase will feature some of John Cena’s biggest defeats. Kurt Angle, Batista, Undertaker, The Rock, AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar, HHH, RVD, and Roman Reigns are just a few of the characters to take down the Dr. of Thuganomics. With 9 out of the 14 opponents revealed, who else might make a surprise appearance?
