Romance is in the air, but it seems not all parties are accepting of that love. Last month, marked the third month since Microsoft ended the backward compatibility program through the Games with Gold; since then, the repercussions have been felt, leaving many gamers feeling underwhelmed. Some have argued that the less-than-stellar offerings are due to the Activision-Blizzard acquisition, but is it really? Last month, January’s Games with Gold gave players Autonauts and Iris Fall; meanwhile, PlayStation offered, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2. With the start of a new month comes new Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus lineup. What are the February 2023 PS+ and GWG offerings? Let’s find out.
Starting on February 1st, Xbox Live Gold members and Gamepass Ultimate members can redeem For the King. For the King will be free until February 28th. Starting on February 16th, Guts ‘N Goals will become free to download; Guts ‘N Goals will be free until March 15th. Both of these Indie games can give players unique experiences but lack the name recognition that many have come to expect from the GWG. Hopefully, Microsoft will step it up within the coming months.
February 2023 PS+ Offerings
Starting on February 7th, 2023, the February 2023 PS+ offerings will become available. During February, OlliOlli World (PS4 and PS5), Mafia: Definitive Edition (PS4), Evil Dead: The Game (PS4 and PS5), and Destiny 2: Beyond Light (PS4 and PS5) will be free to download. When you compare Sony’s PlayStation Plus Lineup to Microsoft’s Games with Gold, it’s like night vs day. Three out of four of these offerings have name recognition. We will personally be picking up Mafia: Definitive Edition.
Personally, we feel like the February 2023 PS+ offers greatly overshadow the Games with Gold. What do you think? Which line up will you be redeeming? Do you think Microsoft will step up their future Games with Gold Offerings?
