Time to Break the Ice. Saber Interactive has unveiled its Winter Pack DLC for Redout II. This new pack for the fastest racing video game in the universe has players plundering Mercury for a true battle of fire and ice. In addition to a new environment, this pack has a multitude of cosmetics and four reversible tracks to race on.
Developer Saber Interactive came out with the news and has a trailer to accompany it. The trailer shows a spaceship racing at unfathomable speeds across the icy tundra of Mercury. While Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, the world of Redout II depicts the planet as an oasis of ice. The ice is in constant conflict with the heat of the sun and makes for a thrilling setup for the racer. Players race through icy caverns, volcanic canyons, and glistening vistas. The tracks are equal parts mesmerizing and dangerous. In addition, the pack also includes a revamped training mode, new cosmetics, and new music from synth music artist Dance With The Dead.
Billed as the fast video game in the Solar System, Redout II is the sequel to Redout. In a video game space devoid of titles like F-Zero and WipeOut, Redout II fits the groove. The sequel to Redout, Redout II puts players into the pilot’s seat of a variety of sharp and fast racing crafts. Players participate in a variety of career events, racing for fortune and glory across several futuristic tracks. Lights and sound bleed together as impossible speeds are reached. Upgrading crafts for speed and handling is essential to victory and if players are up for it, they can test their mettle with players around the world in online multiplayer.
Inspiring new racers
Redout II is essentially the only fast racing game on the market at the moment. There are others such as RMX racing on Nintendo Switch and the WipeOut Collection on PlayStation 4, but in regards to a new racing game, Redout II is the only new one at the moment. It’s good to see Redout II still updating and providing an amazing experience for its fans out there, and perhaps its existence will inspire a new wave of racers to make their way to the gaming space. The use of Dance With The Dead is an automatic purchase for that alone as the synth composer has been excellent at creating soundtracks for imagined futures and haunting nightmares.
Redout II is available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
