The journey begins in the heat of the Summer. Developer Bevel Bakery and Publisher just for Games have announced a release date for its ambitious 1v1 samurai action game, Sclash. Slashing its way with a breathtaking visual presentation that feels like a traditional water painting, Sclash encourages players to fight not with their swords but with their minds and bodies.
Fight for honor
The trailer reveals an extraordinarily gorgeous visual choice. The entire game is woven in a traditional Japanese ink animation. This gives Sclash the appearance of ancient illustrations from Feudal Japan. The game moves and flows like a rainbow river, filled with color and movement. The game appears as if it were inked by the power of the hand. The trailer showcases the unique 1v1 gameplay. Players need to focus on their breathing, defense, and offense. There are 16 stages to choose from for offline and online battling. There will be many new rewards to unlock, including 56 skins to customize their characters. A story mode sends players on a journey to discover the mystery of the Aki and Natsu clans in a tale inspired by Japanese culture.
Interestingly, Sclash is unique in that it is a 1v1 samurai combat game where breathing and stamina are just as important as swinging a sword. Sclash is reminiscent of the philosophy of Trek to Yomi. Sclash focuses on historical samurai combat as opposed to aimlessly waving a sword. There is no telling how long the campaign for Sclash will be. The campaign teases many wars to be fought and divine mystic energies to be used in battle. Based upon the trailer, players are in for an amazing and genuine experience the likes of Wish haven’t been seen in quite some time.
Sclash launches on August 4th, 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
